Riverfront Park

Spokane, Washington’s Riverfront Park is a well-known place to visit. This 100-acre park is right in the middle of downtown Spokane. It has a lot of different things to do and see for people of all ages.

The park was built for the World’s Fair in 1974. Since then, it has become a favorite place for both locals and tourists. Spokane Falls, which runs through the middle of Riverfront Park, is one of the most famous parts of the park. Visitors can see the falls from many places in the park, including the SkyRide, which is a cable car that glides over the falls and gives amazing views from above.

Riverfront Park has a lot of different things to do and see besides the falls. The Looff Carrousel is one of the most popular. It was built in 1909, making it one of the oldest carousels that is still running. Visitors can ride on one of the 54 hand-carved horses or two chariots as the Wurlitzer organ plays music.

The IMAX Theater, which shows movies on a big screen, is another popular place to go in the park. The theater is inside the Pavilion in the park. The Pavilion is also used for concerts and other events all year long.

Riverfront Park is a great place to explore for people who like being outside. There are several miles of paved and unpaved trails in the park where people can walk, run, or ride bikes. Visitors can also rent kayaks or paddleboats to explore the Spokane River, which flows through the park.

The Numerica Skate Ribbon, a 16,000-square-foot ice ribbon that can be used for ice skating in the winter and roller skating in the summer, is one of the newest additions to Riverfront Park. Visitors can skate in a unique way on the skating ribbon, which is surrounded by beautiful landscaping.

Riverfront Park has several playgrounds for kids, including the giant Red Wagon, which is a big version of a classic Radio Flyer wagon that kids can climb on and slide down. The park also has a splash pad for hot summer days and a miniature golf course for friendly competition.

Riverfront Park has many events and festivals throughout the year. The Bloomsday Race, a 12k race that takes place in May and draws runners from all over the world, is one of the most popular. Spokane Hoopfest is the biggest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world, and the park is also home to the Pig Out in the Park food festival and the Holiday Lights display.
